Standing Your Ground

and protecting your peace.

I am in the business of protecting. My kids, my love, myself and my peace. I am in the business of growing and learning and being a better human, partner, mother, and friend. I am in the business of leaving things better than I found them and yet-

I am in the business of protection.

I have felt introspective, tender and hurt this week. I recently had an encounter with a family member that is ultimately more invested in Being Right than doing What’s Right. The intricacy of my relationship with this person and the details of the actual conversation are not important. I believe that most of us have experienced this in some capacity and know the level in which it stings.

The gist was and is-
